Elmo M. Cook Jr graduated from Spotsylvania High School in 1978.  In December 1977 Elmo joined the U. S. Army through the delayed entry program.  After graduating he went on active duty from September 1978 to September 1982. In October of 1982, he joined the US Army reserves and retired in September of 2003 with 26 years total serving our country. During this time Elmo was employed by the federal government at the Marine Corps Base in Quantico, VA from May 1983 until retirement August 2018. In addition, Elmo attended Washington Bible College in Dumfries Virginia where he studied the New Testament.

Elmo was married for 26 years to his late wife Francine M Griffin-Cook. He has one son Cortez Cook and a daughter in-law Morgan Cook.

Elmo's knowledge of scripture and the willingness to share The Gospel is evident in his many mission trips, the way he lives his life, and how he conducts himself with everyone he meets.  He is an individual who trusts and believes in God's Word

Elmo currently serves as one of the Overseers at LNLCC and he is the leader of the Outreach and the Bus ministries.
